Last week, the Directors of Wiser Group overcame their latest test in the Summer of Challenges to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.

The challenge saw the directors Russell and Dominic Hirst and Charlie Thomas joined by a friend Alistair Whitehead to cycle 400km across the Pyrenees. The ride took in major Tour de France and Vuelta Espania climbs including the Col du Tourmalet, Somport, Portalet and Col d’Aubisque which the four conquered in an overall ascent of over 25,000 feet. With temperatures around 34 degrees, everyone unsurprisingly found it even tougher than expected!

Russell Hirst, Managing Director says: “The week was a fantastic experience in a most beautiful location as no doubt some of the accompanying photographs will attest. We would like to thank everyone for their positive support and generous donations, particularly as news of the Grenfell Tower fire reached us whilst on the trip and reminded us again of the bravery and high level training of our fire fighters. Planning for our next challenge is underway as we continue to raise funds for this worthy cause”.

The directors have started the week recuperating and watching the donations from family, friends, customers and suppliers reach over £1,000. If you haven’t already and would like to donate, please do so at our Just Giving page.
